Mill burned Trees to Rebuild Your Home

Two years after Curt Busby and Kelly O’Donnell’s home burned in Larimer County during the Crystal Fire of 2011, the two have taken it upon themselves to cut down burned trees, mill them and get them ready for rebuilding their home.

Timber Frame Workshop

Peter Haney is a local (Ft Collins) timber framer/instructor who is putting on a cruck timber frame workshop up at Pingree Park in August.

I thought it might be a good story for how local folks are using beetle kill to teach timber frame skills and build stuctures. Some of your readership might be interested in doing just that like I am. (I’ve already built a stage for my music festival from my trees and a partial timber frame workshop I went to several years ago.)

Here are photos of my new improved sawbuck for turning logs into firewood. This system is far cheaper than a firewood processor and far more efficient and accurate than bucking firewood on the ground.
